In July of 2010, a group of ghostbusters fans was given one-time access to the Ladder 23, the structure used for the interior scenes of the Ghostbusters headquarters.
The exterior of the building exists in lower Manhattan, New York, but the scenes in the garage, offices, upstairs, etc. were all shot inside this firehouse located in downtown Los Angeles. It has been technically abandoned for some time with an individual living there as unofficial "caretaker."
We roadtripped the Ecto Magnum out from Denver just for this event. A number of other screen-accurate replicas were expected to be in attendance, but didn't show. This made the Ecto Magnum the FIRST Ecto replica to enter the building since the original. That same year, the Ecto Magnum traveled to New York City and became the first Ecto replica to ever be inside both firehouse locations!!
